FreeSense is totally wireless, light and compact; it measures 3D linear accelerations, 3D angular velocities and GPS coordinates. The bluetooth transmission provides real-time data curves directly on the computer monitor. Data can be also collected without any PC; FreeSense contains a long-life rechargeable battery and a memory card that can store huge quantity of data.
 

FreeSense software is very intuitive and permits data collection and organization, hardware unit configuration, as well as data export in table format for further analysis.
 

FreeSense measures 3-axial accelerations, 3-axial angular velocities and GPS coordinates in any context. It is based on the use of the SENSORIZE sensor device: unit C1-S. This unit contains a 3-axial accelerometer (± 6g), a 3-axial gyroscope (± 500 deg/s), and a GPS module along with a wireless transmission module for sending data to a compute station and a memory card to store alternatively all data on board. Thanks to its light weight and small dimensions, it is fit to measure movement in any context.
 

FreeSense can be used in two modalities: stand-alone and wireless.
 

When used in stand-alone, it is sufficient to use unit C1-S. In fact, you can configure all its settings (sampling frequency, full-scale range, and so on) and start/stop data collection by interacting with its user-friendly keyboard. In stand-alone mode, all data are stored on board of the unit and can be later on downloaded into the software through its USB interface.
 

When used in wireless, you can enjoy real-time visualization of acceleration and angular velocity curves directly on your computer monitor. This is particularly useful to observe a phenomenon and provide real-time feedback. In wireless mode, you can control all features of unit C1-S directly from the software and all data are stored directly on the computer hard disk.
